The Lord set His heart on us and chose us out of love.
Our
Kokomo Poor Clare community was founded on March 6, 1959.
Our united,
joyful and grateful response is to
"love Him totally who gave Himself totally for our love"
(St. Clare).
We do this in our cloistered Gospel form of life
at the heart of the Church and the world.
In this way,
we "contribute, with hidden apostolic fruitfulness,
to the growth of the People of God"
(Pope John Paul II, Vita Consecrata # 8).
And therefore,
HAPPY, indeed, are those to whom it is Given:
TO IMITATE JESUS
- poor in the crib
- poor on the cross
- poor in the Eucharist
TO BE FORMED BY MARY
in pondering the Word of God- in pleading for the needs of the world
- in participating in the Paschal Mystery
TO FOLLOW FRANCIS AND CLARE
- in the Gospel form of life
- in true obedience to the Church
- in joyful penance and poverty of spirit
TO BE SISTER IN COMMUNITY
- in singing the praises of God
- in loving service to one another
- in living an enclosed life of prayer
